Skeptic Magazine App Reviews

Great functionality

Happy theyve gone digital. I was having difficulty finding the magazine where I am. It looks just like a copy of the mag.

Excellent

No problems or complaints. Great magazine

Skeptic user

Nice application. Highly recommended.

Not formatted for iPhone

Its basically like viewing a desktop website or PDF. You have to manually zoom and pan around the page. I was expecting something built for the smaller screen. It seems like they could also add colour and other content. Its a great mag, though.

Very interesting and informative

I find each issue has articles that I can use in my classes (university undergraduate). I especially like Skeptic Doc since I live in a family that believes in voodoo medicine - I take joy in tormenting them with evidence based information.

Not enough issues!

Love this magazine and the worst I can say about it is that the issues dont arrive quickly enough. More issues would be fantastic but if it meant dumbing it down like 24 hr news, Ill just have to be patient. I feel smarter after every issue. Thanks Skeptic Magazine.

Amazing magazine

If youre not already a subscriber, sign up now for at least the trial period to check it out for yourself. Great articles that make you think about our world in a clear and critical way.

Should be mandatory reading for college students

This is a great magazine to put in anyones hands. It shows you a differents points of view on many subjects and make you think

Always good content

Every issue has something that updates that edge between woo and reality. I recommend highly, particularly if you are the sort that thrives on click bait!

Awful

This app does not work. No option to contact publisher of magazine that is purchased. No support when product stops working. Do not purchase magazines through this app.

Good Content, Presented Well

Some of the smartest critical analysis of extraordinary claims, in an easy to read and attractive form. What more could you want?

Poor implementation

Seriously, why is there a second system you have to log on to, in order to get a subscription? A extra layer to pay for? If you want to see good implementation of an e-magazine, look at the Economist. But I will not be sending my money to a service so I can buy the mag though the Apple Store. Not sure if that is even Apple legal.

Not for small screens

The app doesnt seem to have any way to zoom, so you just get tiny unreadable pages when viewing on an iPod or iPhone. Pretty useless for those of us without iPads (and if I want to tie my reading to a desktop machine, I might as well just get the hardcopy).

Made Me Skeptical

Ok, App took 3 tries to install. One can not read previews. From reviews, you cant read except from a desktop or IMAX theater. I grabbed a copy at store today and was going to get a digital subscription....Ive never been given "recurring charges" for a magazine. Buy me dinner & a movie before you do that to me Mr Skep Mag. You lost my $ fast. Know your market.

Upset

Very UPSET! Very misleading! Run from this app! Nothing free about it and no way to remove from my phone because it shows up on the news stand, not as an app. The news stand app can not be deleted. RUN!

Skeptic magzine

Apparently payed 3.99 for nothing as you need to download and register for "pocketmags" after you purchase it just to download it. run away and do not buy this useless piece of crap that you cannot even use. It would have been nice to have been told this before purchase!. Zero stars as cannot use this.

App wont launch.

I love the magazine and have been a subscriber for years. The app is the problem. On my iPad2 and on my old iPhone 3gs its the same. It starts to load and then hangs up on the Skeptic start up screen. Ill change my rating once it is fixed.

Cant even change the font size!

Just try reading this on an iPad mini! Definitely not ready for prime time. This is an embarrassing lapse. Try again, Skeptic. This reads more like a scan than a true ebook.

Awful

It takes forever to start downloading, but once it does, it works fine

Its not as bad as people say

Sure it has its problems, but it gets the job done. I can zoom into a page and it renders text clearly. I would prefer it if they rethought the app. But IMHO content is more preferable.
